The One with the Home Depot Commercial

Movies, TV shows, and commercials are filmed around here a lot. Like a lot a lot. It feels like not a day goes by that I don't see orange cones set up that say "no parking tomorrow from 7am-10pm" meaning they're going to be filming at that location at that time. There's a grassy knoll a block down from our apartment and lots of cute houses surrounding it that are always being filmed at. So I didn't blink twice when I came home from a GMO (not to be confused with GNO, I'm saying Girls' MORNING Out) and the block was filled with movie trucks. Same ol' same ol'. But then, around 7pm while Chris was out walking Joey, he called me and said, "You know the house with the red door that they're always filming at?" "Yeah." They've covered it in Christmas lights and now they're spraying it with fake snow!" "No way! I wanna see!" Forget changing into something nice or even putting on shoes that fit, I wanted to take pictures! This is what I look like in my 9th month of pregnancy: scrubby and bulbous, with bright colored socks and ill-fitting shoes:

But I got some cool pictures and that's all that matters :)
As I was snapping away I asked if this was for a movie. The guy said, nope, a Home Depot commercial. How random! I hope I see it and recognize it!
It's crazy how much equipment and how many people it takes just to make a stinkin commercial.
Truck infested street:
Spraying the house with "snow." Chris says it's biodegradable or something. I'll have to go back and see if there are any remnants.
Lots o' Christmas props.
If there was any day I would like to be in real snow, this would have been the day. It was a blazing HOT one! It's supposed to reach 100 today... Perhaps we'll head to the cooler shores of the beach. Anyways. Feast your eyes upon this magical winter wonderland created out of nowhere in 100 degree weather in the middle of September:
So festive and random and fun! Gotta love being so close to Hollywood!

Wow - how fun is that!! I love your photos and your story Paige. I used to see the location trucks when I worked in Manhattan. One day I saw a scene from Sex in the City being filmed. It paled in comparison to that sprayed on snow, though!
Also, I love your funny shots of your belly and feet - I hope you are feeling well as you get closer to mommy-hood :)

I just want to know why the guy in the last photo is covered in 'snow'. Very random. . .

OH, that is too funny. I love just looking at the house and thinking, "And nobody will ever know that was shot on a 100 degree day." LOL.

And your shoes are CUUUUUTE! Seriously. I love them. :-)

The guy covered in snow is the lucky guy who sprayed it everywhere. Messy job!
